The Supply Chain Management Internship provides interns with exposure to day-to-day SCM activities while developing professional skills in procurement, logistics, and reporting.
Minimum Requirements
- NQF 6 Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent
- Matric/Grade 12 certificate
- No prior work experience required
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Teamwork and good interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of procurement, logistics, and SCM processes
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Procurement:
- Source quotations from tax-compliant suppliers on the CSD
- Compile RFQ comparative schedules and make recommendations
- Generate and distribute purchase orders
- Ensure compliance with SCM prescripts and thresholds
- Facilitate contracts or SLA processes
Bid Administration:
- Support Bid Committee meetings and provide administrative support
- Ensure compliance with National Treasury instructions
Logistics Management:
- Safeguard AgriSETA stationery and supplies
- Monitor stock replenishment and conduct monthly stock counts
- Issue stationery and maintain records for audit purposes
Travel Arrangements:
- Assist employees with travel bookings and queries
- Resolve after-hours travel issues
Reporting:
- Maintain RFQ registers and report on procurement processes
- Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines
Ad Hoc:
- Perform other duties as assigned
