TRADESMAN AID: WORKSHOP

SALARY: R147,036 per annum

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10/Standard 8 qualification.
• 2-5 years of relevant workshop experience in Electrical/Carpentry or Building.
• Knowledge of equipment, workshop tools, and machinery.
• Good communication skills and ability to report effectively.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Valid driver’s license considered an added advantage.

DUTIES:

• Assist Artisans with repair and maintenance work in Government Buildings, including Other Islands (Marion, Gough & ANTARCTICA).
• Take care of hand tools, machines, and electric tools.
• Perform minor repair and maintenance work.
• Identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Carry, load, and off-load tools and materials.
• Check faults for repairs and maintenance required.
• Ensure housekeeping of workshop and plant rooms to comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Climb ladders for inspection, work in confined spaces, and perform maintenance on Government Buildings.
