Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the SHE Internship, applicants must meet the following:
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- Diploma in Health & Safety (essential).
- SAMTRAC qualification (advantageous).
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Strong understanding of ISO45001 Management Systems.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to identify compliance gaps.
- Ability to conduct inspections and risk assessments.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As part of the SHE Internship, your duties will include:
- Supporting the maintenance and monitoring of management systems and standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) processes and procedures.
- Conducting regular safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
- Reviewing risk assessments and creating action plans for non-compliance.
- Ensuring fire extinguishers and first-aid boxes are compliant.
- Compiling weekly and monthly HSE reports.
- Assisting with emergency response drills and incident investigations.
- Participating in statutory HSE meetings and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Supporting corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) for identified risks.
