Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Pick n Pay Learnerships 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen aged between 18–35 years.
- Have a Grade 12 / Matric certificate (minimum communication and maths literacy at NQF Level 2).
- Be currently unemployed and not studying full-time.
- Be willing to commit to the 12-month training programme.
- Be able to attend both classroom sessions and in-store practical training.
- Must have successfully completed a pre-assessment process (if applicable).
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Strong attention to detail and creativity.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- A customer-focused mindset with a passion for fashion.
- Ability to work in a team and take accountability.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced retail environment.
What You’ll Learn During the Pick n Pay Learnerships
During your 12-month journey, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the retail and fashion industry through both theoretical and practical learning.
Here’s what you’ll be exposed to:
- Visual merchandising and in-store branding.
- Product placement and retail presentation.

- Stock management and store operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Pick n Pay Learnerships participant, you’ll:
- Assist in creating and maintaining eye-catching visual displays in stores.
- Ensure products are neatly presented and align with the brand’s image.
- Work closely with the visual merchandising team to execute campaigns.
- Help customers find the right products while delivering exceptional service.
- Learn how to manage stock levels, pricing, and product rotation.
