GROUNDSMAN: HORTICULTURAL SERVICES (FACILITIES MANAGEMENT)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10/Standard 8 (Junior Certificate) or ABET Level 4 Certificate or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience or Grade 8 with 2 years of experience in general garden maintenance.
• Interpersonal and basic literacy skills.
• Previous experience in operating machinery is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Willingness to adopt a work schedule according to office requirements.

DUTIES:

• Maintain premises and surroundings.
• Perform general garden maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor, such as planting, pruning, paving, watering, mowing, and tree felling.
• Maintain flower beds, weed control, and other related tasks.
• Remove garden refuse and load onto a truck for transport to the dumping site.
• Ability to operate a chainsaw or perform mowing duties when required.
• Ensure adherence and compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
