Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Education degree or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Graduated within the last 12 months
  • Age: 22–35 years
  • South African citizen (ID required)
  • Registered with SACE or in the process
  • Must be based in and willing to teach in one of the four provinces
  • Able to teach one or more of the following:
    • STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths)
    • Languages (Home or First Additional Language)
    • IT, Coding, and Robotics
  • Qualified to teach in Foundation, Intermediate, Senior, or FET phases

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a recipient of the Graduate Leadership Development Scholarship, your journey will include:

  • Two monthly coaching sessions with a leadership development coach
  • One Community of Practice (COP) virtual session per term
  • Quarterly classroom observations for support and feedback
  • Ongoing tracking of learner progress and school performance
  • Community Impact Project planning and implementation
  • Participation in surveys and programme evaluations
  • Attendance at a Summer Institute at the beginning of 2026 (during school holidays)

Note: There are no exams, but full engagement in all assignments and skill pathways is mandatory.
