Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this Finance Intern position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Degree or National Diploma in one of the following:
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Cost Accounting
    • Auditing
  • Be unemployed and have no prior internship or work experience
  • Be a South African citizen

Knowledge and Skills Required

Ideal candidates for the Finance Intern role should possess:

  • Foundational knowledge of financial processes and accounting principles
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools
  • A willingness to learn and grow in a structured work environment

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Finance Intern, your duties will include:

  • Assisting with budget tracking, data entry, and financial reconciliations
  • Supporting the finance department with documentation for audits
  • Learning about public sector finance regulations and processes
  • Helping maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Participating in team meetings and departmental workshops
  • Contributing to ongoing projects and financial administrative tasks
