Minimum Requirements
- NQF Level 4 (Grade 12 / ABET / AET Level 3) or equivalent.
- Valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate (handgun/rifle/shotgun).
- Valid driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).
- Physically fit with no criminal record.
- Conservation training certificate/qualification from an accredited institution (essential).
- Experience in conservation management programmes will be an added advantage.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Knowledge of nature reserve management.
- Understanding of national and provincial conservation legislation and policies.
- Firearm handling skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Client orientation and customer service focus.
- Ability to conduct ecological monitoring and rehabilitation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a successful candidate for Field Ranger Jobs 2025, your duties will include:
- Protecting nature reserves and natural resources.
- Conducting law enforcement operations such as conservation patrols.
- Inspecting and repairing boundary fences.
- Maintaining infrastructure within reserves.
- Managing visitor behaviour and reporting non-compliance.
- Assisting with fire management and access control.
- Monitoring ecological processes, habitats, and biodiversity.
- Conducting ecological rehabilitation programmes (soil erosion control, alien plant removal, bush encroachment).
- Assisting in wildlife management, game monitoring, and community programmes.
- Supporting conservation management initiatives like water provision and fire management.
- Contributing to the success of the Field Ranger Jobs 2025 programme.
