Johannesburg Metrobus: Apply For EPWP Opportunities 2025

Job Overview

Metrobus is offering exciting EPWP Opportunities 2025 under its Expanded Public Works Programme. These opportunities are open to Johannesburg residents only and will provide 12-month fixed-term employment for unemployed individuals.

Two categories of positions are available:

  • EPWP Team Leaders General Workers (x15)
  • EPWP General Workers (x135)

Both positions are based at Metrobus depots and outlets across Johannesburg.

Position Details

1. EPWP Team Leaders General Workers (x15)

  • Designation: Team Leader EPWP (15 posts)
  • Department: Corporate Services (CS) & Integrated Business Operations (IBO)
  • Duration: 12 months (1-year programme)
  • Remuneration: Monthly stipend of R6,000.00
  • Location: Various Metrobus depots and outlets
  • Closing Date: 12 SEPT 2025

2. EPWP General Workers (x135)

  • Designation: EPWP General Workers (135 posts)
  • Department: Corporate Services (CS) & Integrated Business Operations (IBO)
  • Duration: 12 months (1-year programme)
  • Remuneration: Monthly stipend of R5,500.00
  • Location: Various Metrobus depots and outlets
  • Closing Date: 12 SEPT 2025

Purpose of the Programme

The Metrobus EPWP Opportunities 2025 aim to:

  • Create temporary employment and work opportunities.
  • Provide valuable workplace exposure and skills development.
  • Support unemployed residents of Johannesburg with income and practical experience.

Minimum Requirements

For EPWP Team Leaders General Workers (x15):

  • Minimum of Grade 12.
  • A post-matric qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Must be 18–50 years old.
  • Must be a South African citizen residing in the City of Johannesburg Municipality (recent proof of address required).
  • Only unemployed candidates will be considered.
  • Closing Date:12 September 2025

For EPWP General Workers (x135):

  • Minimum of Grade 10 or NCV Level 4.
  • Must be 18–50 years old.
  • Must be a South African citizen residing in the City of Johannesburg Municipality (recent proof of address required).
  • Only unemployed candidates will be considered.
  • Closing Date:12 September 2025
