Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Youth Employment Service (YES) X20 programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be between 18 and 34 years old.
  • Must have Grade 12 or equivalent qualification and/or a post-matric certificate/programme.
  • Should not have been permanently employed with a single employer continuously for more than 1 year.
  • Should not be studying full-time in the year of employment.
  • Should not have participated or registered on the YES initiative before.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a professional environment.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation.
  • Teamwork and reliability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Participants in the Youth Employment Service (YES) X20 programme will:

  • Be placed across various Eskom divisions and departments.
  • Gain hands-on experience related to Eskom’s operational and administrative functions.
  • Support teams in daily activities while learning critical business and technical processes.
  • Develop employability skills for future opportunities.
