Job Overview
uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) Training and Development Department, with support from the Operations Division, invites applications for the UUW Learnership Programme 2025-2026. This one-year Water & Waste Water Treatment Learnership is designed for twenty candidates who have successfully completed Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science. The programme combines theoretical and practical training to equip learners with the skills required to work in the Water Industry.
Participants will attend classes, complete a Portfolio of Evidence (POE), and gain hands-on practical experience at water treatment plants in the North East Region, specifically Richards Bay and Jozini Water Treatment Plant.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be unemployed.
- Must have completed Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science.
- Be youth up to the age of 35.
- Reside in deep rural areas of uMkhanyakude District or uMdoni Local Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal.
- Applicants living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants must not have completed any qualification at NQF level 5 or above.
- Proof of residence via Traditional Authority letter (where applicable).
- Certified copies of Matric certificate, mid-term school report, and valid South African ID.
- Motivation letter explaining why the applicant should be selected.
