Minimum Requirements
These Minimum Requirements apply to ALL the Mining Graduate Internships listed in this post. Each internship field also includes its own specific requirements further down.
- Relevant qualification for the specific internship field
- Strong academic background
- Willingness to work onsite and in remote locations
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced and technical environments
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Must pass security vetting
- Preference given to residents of Wards 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 49, 70, and 127
Knowledge & Skills Required (For All Internships)
- Interest in mining, engineering, environmental work, occupational hygiene, or technical disciplines
- Ability to learn quickly and apply theoretical knowledge
- Understanding of safety and compliance standards
- Computer literacy (MS Office; field-specific software advantageous)
- Ability to work underground and on surface operations
Key Duties and Responsibilities (For All Internships)
- Support technical teams with day-to-day tasks
- Assist with monitoring, compliance, and operational processes
- Participate in onsite training sessions
- Prepare reports under the guidance of senior staff
- Learn environmental, health, engineering, and ventilation standards
- Contribute to mine safety and operational efficiency
