Job Overview
SAFCOL invites youth to apply for the Mechanised Harvesting Learnership 2026, a ten-month programme designed to provide theoretical and practical training at NQF Level 3. Participants will gain hands-on Forestry experience, develop foundational skills, and explore career opportunities or set up their own Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) in the Forestry sector. This programme forms part of SAFCOL’s commitment to developing unemployed youth through structured learning in Forestry.
Position Details
- Programme: Mechanised Harvesting Learnership (NQF Level 3)
- Duration: 10 months
- Location: SAFCOL Training Centre, Platorand, Sabie, Mpumalanga
- Stipend: Monthly allowance provided
- Closing Date: 14 November 2025
Programme Includes:
- Accredited Forestry theory at NQF Level 3
- Practical Mechanised Harvesting training
- Skills development for Forestry career pathways
- Exposure to SMME opportunities in the Forestry sector
Minimum Requirements
- South African citizen
- Unemployed youth aged 18–35
- Successfully passed Matric (Grade 12)
- Passion for Forestry and ability to work outdoors
- Commitment to complete the full Mechanised Harvesting Learnership
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Eagerness to learn practical and theoretical aspects of Forestry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of Forestry operations preferred
- Strong work ethic and dedication to the Mechanised Harvesting Learnership
- Interest in career growth and potential SMME development in Forestry
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend accredited Forestry theory lessons at NQF Level 3
- Participate in structured practical Mechanised Harvesting sessions
