Job Overview

The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Directorate of Finance: Revenue Services is seeking part-time Financial Assistants for multiple campuses. This one-month position provides hands-on experience in financial operations, cash handling, and administrative support.

Minimum Requirements

Academic Qualification:

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Accounting, Mathematics, or Mathematics Literacy

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience within a financial environment

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Basic knowledge of financial systems

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Financial Assistants will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring transactions are properly processed
  • Accepting only valid bank notes, credit/debit cards, and postal orders
  • Preparing balancing schedules and banking all receipts daily
  • Securing cash and its equivalents during operational hours
  • Handling queries related to payments and financial transactions
  • Performing ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Manager/Head of Department
