Key Responsibilities
During the Dispensary Support Learnerships 2026, learners will perform duties under pharmacist supervision, including:
- Assisting in the sale of Schedule 1 medicines
- Supporting the preparation and compounding of non-sterile medicines
- Unpacking and merchandising stock
- Maintaining cleanliness of dispensary and OTC shelves
- Interpreting prescriptions accurately under supervision
- Assisting with picking, packing, labelling, and checking medication
- Monitoring stock levels and expiry dates
- Following up with patients regarding prescriptions
- Assisting with call centre and patient service calls
- Providing health-related information to customers
- Supporting authorization for chronic, HIV, AIDS, and oncology medication
- Reporting stock shortages and discrepancies
- Receiving stock according to company SOPs
